Amazon bans Google Chromecast, Apple TV

Generally speaking, no retailer has to sell anything it doesn’t want to sell.  So Amazon.com is under no obligation to sell the products of competitors such as Google and Apple.

Just don’t expect customers to be happy about that decision and don’t feed them a line of malarkey about how it’s for their own good.

From a Bloomberg report:

The Seattle-based Web retailer sent an e-mail to its marketplace sellers that it will stop selling Apple TV and Google’s Chromecast. No new listings for the products will be allowed and posting of existing inventory will be removed Oct. 29, Amazon said. Amazon’s streaming service, called Prime Video, doesn’t run easily on its rival’s hardware.
