Yes!! Only have one at one time, or else they’ll all compete to run and block each other out. It’s actually a lot safer to have none than have more than 1 running. No wonder your PC is slow; not just because of the 5 security programs, but probably full of viruses. 3 gig of ram should be flying. Delete 4 of them!

    All the best.

that is absolutely the prob, that is if they are all anti-virus programs. i only have one an anti-virus program, but 5 anti-spyware programs. it is advised that you only install one anti-virus. choose the best and uninstall the rest . ur pc will speed right up <(^_^)>

you did not say, what prog,s, firewalls? antivirus?or antispyware? as a rule 1 firewall….1 antivirus, you can use 2 antispy, as MOST, not all, are, ok, together, without knowing, what, prog,s ,are running, this is all i can tell you,

Running more than one spyware scanner at one time can actually do more harm than good.

The more spyware scanner programs you have running, the slower your computer can be.

Sometimes these programs also recognize the other program as spyware, similar to antivirus programs.

It is always a good idea to have at least 2 spyware removers on your computer. A free one, and a paid one. However, you never want to run them at the same time.

For your free spyware remover, I would suggest trend micro’s spy sweeper. And for your paid remover, AdwareAlert is by far the superior product on the market.

I have been using AdwareAlert for about 4 months now, and it has done an awesome job at keeping my computer spyware free.
