What’s the best anti virus and internet security program for Vista?

I need one for my laptop. The one I currently have is Norton Internet Security 2009. Do you recommend changing it or not? Why?

If you do change it just make sure the program is compatible with Vista..some of the free AV programs out there are not….but if your not having any security issues i would leave norton on there..it’s an okay product….the only other thing i would recommend is a malware and spyware program also….you can go to CNet.com/downloads and download the two below for free (no trial)……..

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free home edition
    Super Anti-Spyware free home edition

Norton has really changed it’s Internet Security Suite and made it a lot better then previous versions. Compared to other Internet Security Suites it one of the best.

However if you are aiming for superior detection rates then Avira Premium Security is the one to get. Plus it’s not that resource heavy on your computer and it has a fast scanner.

Actually I have been quite happy with it since they did a big update this year. I has switched to McAfee but was getting sick of the constant advertising. Norton was getting bad at telling me problems with no easy fix. I think they stepped it up this year- or had to step it up becasue of some good competition- Kaspersky- Trend Micro- CA, etc. My top five:)

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, I have recently added superantispyware and Malwarebytes. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just upgraded to AVG free 8.5 and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

Norton Internet Security is a very good anti-virus and I don’t think you should change it.

If you are thinking of changing it take Kspersky Internet Security 8 or if you want your laptop to run smoothly, buy Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8,which only includes the standard virus protection.

If you ask me keep Norton as the Internet Security has improved a lot.

    Hope it helped!

NOD32 is the best anti-virus program for VISTA. NOD32 checks the virus quickly and also clean them very quickly.
